‘My Beloved Cliffs’ he said as he watched me paint one of the cliff sites I had admired and photographed on one of my recent coastal walks. He spoke so eloquently of his intimate experience with the cliffs and the beauty of the rocks that have formed over time. He spoke of the harsh weather that had formed such amazing shapes and how alive he feels when he climbs amongst them.

His story and connection to the work as it unfolded inspired me to instil in my work the energy and love with which he spoke. To do justice to his deep connection to place. What significance do the cliffs to you, what stories do you have to tell?
